What did you do in school today?

To avoid the standard answer of “Nothing”, ask specific questions like:

What did you work on during writing workshop today?

What did you work on during reading workshop today?

What did you do in math today?

What independent work did you do today?

Who did you eat lunch with?  What did you eat?

Who did you play with during recess?

Who did you work with today?

What did you learn today?

Mrs. Grantz’s Class’ Open House

Back to School - Oak Ridge Schools

Open House will be on Thursday, September 14th.  Due to circumstances beyond my control, our class’ Open House will be from 5:30-6:00.  Please note that this time is different than that of the other second grade classes.  My students are looking forward to showing their families around our classroom during this time.  I will also be having a short presentation at 5:40.  From 6:00-7:00, you may take a tour of the rest of the building, visit interventionists, visit special education teachers and visit the Book Fair.  If you would like additional time in our classroom (as I will not be there during the school wide Open House on 9/14 from 6:00-7:00), you may visit our classroom on Friday, September 15th from 3:00-4:00.

Book Fair

Our class will visit the Book Fair on Monday, September 11th.  Students may purchase books during this time.  You may also purchase books when you come to Open House.  This is  the link  for the Book Fair.  Please direct any questions concerning the Book Fair to Mrs. Mechachonis at christine.caza@sau24.org.  For anyone who would like to purchase a book for our classroom, please consider purchasing an extra book for your child.  As much as I appreciate the kind gesture, I have an extensive library.
